Your SDU account must be protected by phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication

All SDU accounts must be protected by phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication. The purpose is to strengthen the protection of SDU’s data, systems and users against phishing, account takeover and other forms of unauthorised access.

Phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication must be used as a basic security measure when an SDU account is used to access SDU systems, email, data, or other digital services. This requirement reduces the risk of login details being misused, even if a user is tricked through fake emails, websites, or login prompts.

Passkey is the recommended method for phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication at SDU. As a user, you can set up a Passkey on your smartphone. A Passkey is linked to a specific device and protected by, for example, a PIN, fingerprint, or facial recognition. If you cannot use a smartphone, you can use a YubiKey instead – a small hardware key that plugs into your computer’s USB port.

A Passkey or YubiKey must be personally linked to the user and must not be shared with others.

If a user has not activated phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication, access to certain services, email, or programs may be restricted until the requirement is met.
