Colours
Colour is a key part of an organisation's visual identity. They help create recognisability, clarity and coherence in communication. Here you can see SDU's colours and how and how much you use them to ensure consistency with SDU's visual identity.
SDU's colour scale
SDU's colour scale consists of 10 colours. They are divided into primary, secondary and tertiary colours. The division indicates that some colours are used more than others in accordance with SDU's design guide.
Black and white are the dominant SDU colours. They provide readability, clarity and peace of mind to orientate yourself in what we publish.
The primary colours black and white should be used the most and make up about 70% of the overall look. Text should generally be black, unless the background is very dark, in which case the text can be white.
Black and white emphasises the essentials in texts and lets photos or simple illustrations stand out and convey the message.
Secondary colours
Beige, brown, pink and red.
Feel free to use them on entire coloured surfaces, such as posters. Or as chapter intros and theme separators in PowerPoint.
Tertiary colours
Dark and light green, yellow and orange.
This means that beige, brown, pink and red are used more often than dark green, light green, yellow and orange.
The colours are available in all SDU's many different templates as SDU colour themes, so you just need to add the content.
