Visual identity

Logo

SDU's logo is a key element of the visual identity and may only be used in its original form. It consists of the name "SDU" and a stylised apple branch. The logo helps to ensure that SDU is recognisable, professional and coherent across platforms and materials. The logo is available in versions for web, print and social media. Below you can download logos and read about rules for use and placement.

Rules for logo usage

Use of the logo must always follow SDU's visual identity and guidelines.

Sizes af SDU's logo

To ensure readability, the logo size must be decodable in reading distance adapted to the media and situation. SDU's logo must measure at least the specified sizes in width.

  • 300px
  • 200px
  • 100px
  • 50px (minimum size)

If the logo is used with a name line underneath, this must be legible. If no logo is used, the full name of the university must be clearly visible somewhere on the chosen media in the immediate vicinity of the logo.

When several institutions' logos are displayed on collaborative partners, SDU's logo with a name line underneath must always be used.

Black logo used on white background. White logo used on black or very dark photo background.

Free zone for other elements

There schould always be a clear zone around the logo:

  • One “D” height above and below
  • Two “D” widthis to the sides

This ensures calmnes and clarity in the layout.

SDU's logo with name tag

When the logos of several institutions are shown as partners, SDU's logo must be shown with the namespace SDU at the top and University of Southern Denmark at the bottom as shown to the right. This means that 'University of Southern Denmark' must not be replaced with, for example, unit names. SDU and partner names must be displayed visually in equal size as shown to the right.

Clear sender placement

The logo is usually placed in the top right corner. SDU has many different templates where the logo is already placed, so you just need to add the content.

Find templates.

If the logo is used without the full name under the acronym, the full name must be clearly visible on the page, for example in a heading or subheading, or as shown on the poster to the right.

If the logo is used with the full name under the acronym, it is optional whether the full name should also appear in a heading or subheading.
