About programmes

How does this affect students?

Discontinuation of programmes

When an offer is discontinued, it naturally leaves questions in the minds of currently enrolled students and prospective students who would like to apply for the offer in question. In this context, an ‘offer’ can cover a course of study, a track, a profile or a subject.

Some questions are programme-specific, while others are more generic in nature and not only about the discontinuation of a specific offer.

Questions of a generic nature are summarised in a Q&A available on MitSDU.

For example, the Q&A provides answers to the following questions:

  • Why is SDU discontinuing offers?
  • Will students be consulted or be allowed to object or complain about the decision to discontinue an offer?
  • What are the options for students who are in the process of applying for a programme that is to be discontinued?
  • How will enrolled students be affected if an offer is to be discontinued, for instance with regard to project-oriented courses, international relations, exam results/diplomas or the possibilities to apply for e.g. Master’s degree programmes?
