University of Copenhagen wants first-year study groups based on NAT model

In an article in the journal MONA (Maths and Science Education) from December 2015, PhD student Nadia Dyrberg, Professor WSR Claus Michelsen and Executive Officer Camilla Kromann describe the study group concept for students in NAT's first study year. In the latest edition of MONA from January 2016 there are many comments about their article.

Among the comments is one from Julie Marie Isager, Pedagogical Consultant at the University of Copenhagen, who would like to see study groups like those at NAT introduced to the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. The authors of the article are, naturally, very pleased about the positive response.

– People are always very interested when we are out giving talks about the study groups at NAT, both in the overall framework of the concept, but also regarding details in its practical implementation. Many people say that they have tried something similar but without success. That we have succeeded with the NAT concept is undoubtedly because we have made sure that the formal and administrative framework is thoroughly prepared and implemented, so the students can concentrate on the content - studying and proficiency, say Nadia Dyrberg and Camilla Kromann.
