Talented colleagues from SUND will be sharing their research at the Festival of Research
Once again this year, SUND will be strongly represented at the Festival of Research at SDU in Odense on 26 April.
At the Festival of Research on Saturday 26 April, you can experience a range of exciting activities led by talented colleagues from SUND:
- Take part in healthy activities with Generation Healthy Kids
Try fun exercises focused on diet, physical activity, sleep and screen use. Researchers from the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics explore how to promote healthy habits from an early age.
- Meet the Centre for Gender Identity
Gain insight into how doctors and psychologists work with gender identity and gender-affirming hormone treatment – and learn about the physical and mental impact of such treatment. The activity is led by researchers from the Department of Clinical Research and OUH.
- Explore menstruation as a health barometer
Discover how menstruation can provide insights into health across the lifespan, and try out a simulator that demonstrates what menstrual pain can feel like. Presented by researchers from the Department of Clinical Research and OUH.
- Challenge your fears with the Palner Lab
Learn more about what triggers fear and how it affects you. Take part in sensory tests and daring experiments. This activity is led by Mikael Palner from the Department of Molecular Medicine.
- Discover future healthcare solutions in the MedTech area
Meet researchers from SUND, TEK and OUH, and see concrete examples of health technology that could shape tomorrow’s healthcare system.
- Gain new knowledge about children’s screen use
Join a debate with Clement Kjersgaard, Aida Bikic from the Department of Clinical Research , and Anders Grøntved from the Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics – and get inspiration for how to handle children’s digital habits as a parent.
- Join a guided tour of the New OUH
Meet the people behind the construction of the New OUH and take a special tour of the area by light rail.
- Broaden your horizon with the show “Jan Elhøj is wondering”
Experience a conversation about microdosing with Mikael Palner from the Department of Molecular Medicine.
You can also experience or revisit the following activities:
- “What does a liver do” from the Department of Clinical Research and OUH
- “Experience, understand and protect your hearing” from the Department of Clinical Research
- “The dead helping the living” from the Department of Molecular Medicine
- “On the job with a forensic pathologist” from the Department of Forensic Medicine
The last two activities can be experienced in or near their new surroundings in the SUND Building.
And of course, the other faculties will also be presenting lots of great activities.
