Teacher of the Year 2025
Martin Wirenfeldt Nielsen named Teacher of the Year at the Faculty of Health Sciences 2025
Martin Wirenfeldt Nielsen has been awarded the title of Teacher of the Year 2025 for his dedicated and inspiring teaching. He was selected from among six nominated lecturers from across the entire faculty – and is now also a candidate for SDU’s Teaching Award.
Martin Wirenfeldt Nielsen from the medical programme in Esbjerg has been named Teacher of the Year 2025 at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
He received the happy news from Dean Ole Skøtt, when – to his great surprise – he was interrupted in the middle of a meeting in Esbjerg. Watch the moment here:
Six strong candidates
The six candidates for the award were nominated by students from their respective study boards, and the selection reflects both strong teaching efforts and broad academic expertise across the faculty.
The title also includes a nomination for SDU’s overall Teacher of the Year award, which will be presented at the university’s annual celebration later this year.
The nominees were:
- Jesper Roed Sørensen – audiology
