Pernille Hviid named SUND’s Teacher of the Year 2026
Students highlight Pernille’s ability to create engaging teaching with a strong connection between theory and practice. She has now been named Teacher of the Year at SUND.

Dean Ole Skøtt surprised Pernille Hviid with the news that she has been named Teacher of the Year 2026 at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Pernille Hviid teaches on the psychology programme, where she is known for engaging and inclusive teaching that brings students closer to both research and practice.

Five strong candidates
Pernille Hviid was selected from among five nominated lecturers from across SUND.
The candidates for the award were nominated by students from the respective Boards of Studies and represent strong teaching efforts across the faculty’s degree programmes.
The nominees for SUND’s Teacher of the Year 2026 were:
- Anne Wolff Nilsson – Sports and Health
- Gabriel Gulis – Public Health
- Jessica Pingel – Medicine
- Lise Lykke Oddershede – Clinical Biomechanics
- Pernille Hviid – Psychology
Recognition of teaching excellence at SUND
The Teacher of the Year award recognises the high quality and great dedication that the faculty’s lecturers contribute every day in teaching students.

Along with the title of Teacher of the Year comes a nomination for SDU’s Teaching Award, which will be presented at the university’s Annual University Celebration later this year.
