Mark your calendar: Health Innovation Day 2026

How can research and innovation help solve some of the biggest challenges in healthcare – and create real value for society?

That’s the key question at the heart of SDU Health Innovation Day 2026, taking place on 28 January – an inspiring day where we bring together knowledge and perspectives across disciplines, sectors and organisations.

Health Innovation Day is a unique opportunity to meet researchers, clinicians, business leaders and decision-makers, all working towards a more innovative and sustainable healthcare system. The day features a series of engaging talks and discussions focused on collaboration, idea development and creating tangible impact.

The morning kicks off with uplifting keynotes on trends and opportunities in health innovation. You’ll also hear from investors and entrepreneurs – and get the chance to meet the winner of SDU’s Innovation Award 2025. Additional sessions will highlight industry collaborations, spin-outs, and how research can influence policy-making.

In the afternoon, we’ll be joined by the Innovation Fund Denmark and the Novo Nordisk Foundation for a panel discussion with two heads of department, exploring innovation, pathways to impact, and societal influence – including how new demands and expectations are reshaping the concept of excellence. The panel will be moderated by Professor Mickael Beck, and we expect a lively debate that gently nudges the cultural shift also supported by CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment).

Whether you’re a researcher, entrepreneur or involved in healthcare decision-making, Health Innovation Day is the place to gain new insights, expand your network and get inspired to think differently.

The event is hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark, and we warmly welcome participants from SDU, the Region of Southern Denmark, industry, organisations and other interested stakeholders.
