On January 20th, SDU’s Odense campus will host Health Innovation Day 2025 - a unique opportunity to connect with leading minds in healthcare innovation.

Health Innovation Day is centered around the MedTech collaboration between SDU and the Region of Southern Denmark, which aims to accelerate the implementation of groundbreaking health technologies to improve patient care and optimize healthcare resources.

With an exciting program that includes keynote speakers, conversation galleries, and opportunities to forge new partnerships, Health Innovation Day is a must-attend for anyone invested in the future of health innovation.

One of the event's highlights is keynote speaker Jason Mellad, a visionary entrepreneur and leader in health innovation. But why is Jason Mellad such an inspiring choice? We asked Jeroen Bergmann, professor and head of Department of Technology and Innovation at The Faculty of Engineering, to share his thoughts on why you should make sure to attend his keynote and the event all together.

1. Who is Jason Mellad?
Jason Mellad is a dynamic entrepreneur, scientist, and advocate for health innovation. He was awarded a Marshall Scholarship to obtain his PhD in Medicine from Clare College, University of Cambridge. He is renowned for his work at the intersection of biotech and healthcare, particularly as the CEO and co-founder of Start Codon, a leading life sciences accelerator.
