Our vision is to contribute to improving people's health!

We aim to:

maintain and develop the University of Southern Denmark as an institution with a visible and decisive influence on the development of the healthcare system and public health – with a focus on the sustainable development of society.

We achieve this by:

• educating and conducting research at a high international level in areas relevant to public health and effective in disease treatment
• ensuring that our activities quickly benefit society
• recruiting the best staff
• disseminating research findings to the public, healthcare professionals, and decision-makers.

Our strength lies in: Research on public health and selected diseases that burden the population, the individual, and society – aiming to understand their:

• biomedical basis
• prevalence and development in the population
• impact on human quality of life and functional ability, both physically and mentally

by combining advanced biomedical and epidemiological research with research in health promotion, prevention, rehabilitation, and diagnostic and treatment methods.

Quality development of a complete spectrum of health-oriented education at:

• bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels
• continuing and further education

which are all research-based, reflect society's needs for education from an international perspective – and highlight the knowledge and skills of graduates.
