For Future and New Parents With Laboratory Work at TEK
The guide and the APV template are relevant to you who:
- Plan to become a mother or father and are unsure whether the processes you are working with affect your fertility
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have an infant at home and are concerned about bringing home something harmful
- Have management responsibilities
- Are a member of the working environment organisation
You must at all times prevent exposure to harmful substances and other harmful effects in your work, regardless of your life situation.
Your manager is responsible for ensuring that your work is planned so that it is fully safe and sound, and your occupational health and safety group helps to ensure working conditions.
But you also have a great responsibility yourself, and you must ensure that your unborn child and nursing child are protected as best as possible.
An APV (workplace assessment) must therefore be prepared in your work area as early as possible in your pregnancy or breastfeeding period.
