Why is a portion of the overheads allotted to the department?

The share of the overheads that goes to the department cover administrative support for the projects, including the application phase, financial follow-up and financial reporting, as well as HR resources for recruitment and extensions. If administrative coordination of the project is necessary, it must be paid for by the project and appear as a separate budget item in the application. The funds also contribute to supporting the department as a whole.
