Status of the restructuring, continuous updates

Change, common direction and flexibility

We are amid a major change that arouses curiosity and perhaps also concerns. That's why it's important for me to get out and meet you, listen to your thoughts, views and questions about what lies ahead.

By Stinne Hørup Hansen, Deputy Director of Studies, 11/5/2025

It has been a great pleasure for me to meet the student administration staff at HUM and SAMF who are moving to the Planning department. I have already heard many constructive thoughts from you about the merger of employees and about the future collaboration between the faculties and SDU Education – and I very much look forward to also visiting TEK, SUND and NAT.

Some have also shared concerns – both in relation to the collaboration with colleagues who will remain at the faculties and about what everyday life at SDU Education will look like. For example, people have asked whether they still have a say in the organisation of their working day, whether they can work from home, earn flexitime and take planned holidays.

I've appreciated the good questions – it's valuable to discuss them with you. And in relation to the last point, I would like to emphasise that all employees in the Central Administration have the freedom to organise their working day and perform their tasks flexibly – naturally in dialogue and agreement with their line manager. It is also important for us to emphasise the possibility of working from home.

A transition phase with care

Of course, we are aware that we are in the middle of a transition phase. The interim team leaders have been appointed but will not start until 1 January. Until then, your current line manager is still the person to go to if you have any questions or concerns. They're also the ones I have ongoing dialogue with about current issues.

Team leaders are on their way – and we're preparing

There will naturally be gaps in a process like the one we are in – the team leaders cannot step into the role until they are well introduced to the task, have got to know the new organisation and together we have started to shape the culture of SDU Education. That's why we plan an introductory programme to give them a good start and the best conditions for success in their role.

In the meantime, I'll be travelling around and visiting the different teams. After HUM and SAMF, I will visit the other faculties during November – and visit everyone again just before Christmas.

Because dialogue is crucial. It strengthens our common understanding and direction, and I look forward to continuing it, both when I visit again and when we together take the next steps in a good and efficient transformation of the study administration.
