Engineers Without Borders

SDU has become a member of Engineers Without Borders - which opportunities does it give you?

SDU has become a company member of Engineers Without Borders (IUG) and therefore as an employee at SDU, you can become a member of Engineers Without Borders, for free. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in an NGO that works for some of the world's poorest people.

Despite the name, you do not have to be an engineer to be a member or to volunteer in Engineers Without Borders, as they need a wide range of knowledge from various disciplines in their work.

Whilst being able to make a difference, as a member, you also get:

  • Access to sparring opportunities in professional networks
  • Opportunity to join a project team in one of the development projects
  • Invitations to events and courses

It is entirely up to you whether you want to become an active member of Engineers Without Borders or whether you just want to show that you support IUG's work by being a member.

A brief description of Engineers Without Borders:

Engineers Without Borders is a technical-humanitarian organization which consists of volunteer members that have many different competencies. IUG works with local and international aid organisations to improve the living conditions of those in need and vulnerable people in poor countries. IUG builds schools and health clinics, provides clean water and better sanitation, help climate adapt vulnerable communities and establish photovoltaic solar systems and waste treatment. IUG ensures local anchoring and lasting solutions, and the efforts support a number of the UN's Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
