Major challenges in the supply of IT equipment for the rest of 2021 and into 2022

There are still lead times for IT equipment. At SDU IT, we do what we can to meet the needs, but not all demands can be met.

Like others at home and abroad throughout 2021, SDU has experienced challenges in the supply of different IT equipment.

At SDU IT, we have done what we could to always be able to supply a very narrow selection of computers, monitors and so on. There have been prolonged lead times, but we have been able to meet most needs.

No guarantee of delivery this year

Now we can see that it will be even more difficult to ensure the supply of IT equipment to SDU, and for many products we are currently facing delivery times well into 2022. And even with our rather narrow range, we now experience that we cannot provide standard equipment such as monitors, laptops, docking stations and the like to the extent and with the reliability of delivery that we would like to offer.

But like everyone else, SDU is affected by a number of factors in the general production and logistics on the world market, which are completely beyond SDU’s influence.

During the last months of a year, we traditionally receive orders for IT equipment to be charged as expenses in the current year. This will be a challenge this year. SDU IT can in no way guarantee that equipment will arrive before 31 December 2021.

At SDU IT, we do all we can to provide the requested equipment, but we also hope for your understanding that a number of issues are completely out of our hands. Thanks.
