Jens Ringsmose's appointment is extended as Rector at SDU
SDU's Board of Directors has decided to extend Jens Ringsmose's appointment as Rector for a 3-year period.
Jens Ringsmose was appointed Rector of SDU in 2021, and the Board has now decided to extend his appointment until autumn 2030, which is the longest the Board can extend under the current code of practice.
Great recognition, trust and respect from the Board
With this decision, the Board wants to ensure continuity in the management of the university and a strong foundation for the further development of SDU in the coming years.
- Jens Ringsmose has visionarily, diligently and with great foresight created a very clear direction for a unified SDU. Jens has a large part of the credit for the fact that SDU has developed very positively and that SDU is in a very good place. In just a few years, Jens has created significant results, including a new campus in Vejle, very significant growth in external funding and better placements in international rankings. I am therefore very pleased that Jens Ringsmose will continue as Rector, and I and the entire Board of Directors look forward to the continued good collaboration, says Søren Vilby, Chairman of SDU's Board of Directors.
