Pro-rector moves to DTU

Pro-rector Helle Waagepetersen has resigned her position at the University of Southern Denmark in connection with a job change. On 1 March, she will take up a position as Director of DTU Health Technology at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

Helle Waagepetersen has been Pro-rector at SDU since 1 August 2022 and has during this period been responsible for key education and development tasks as well as a number of interdisciplinary collaborations across the university.

A significant driving force in the field of education

As Pro-rector, Helle Waagepetersen has played a key role in developing SDU's degree programmes and in strategic collaboration across the faculties.

-During her time at SDU, Helle Waagepetersen has made a great and committed contribution to the university. She has been dedicated in her work to strengthen the education area and the cross-cutting initiatives. SDU and I owe Helle a big thank you for that. I wish her all the best in her future endeavours, says Rector Jens Ringsmose.

Temporary solution and further process

A process for the recruitment of a new Pro-rector will now be initiated. Until a new Pro-rector is in place, Dean Hanne Søndergaard Birkmose, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, will temporarily take over the Pro-rector's tasks as chair of the Council for Education and the Education Policy Committee of Universities Denmark.
