Agreement with new canteen partner
SDU has signed an agreement with new canteen partner
Following the expiry of SDU’s contract with the Compass Group – our current canteen supplier – Jespers Torvekøkken will take over canteen and café operations at SDU in Odense from 1 January.
Green and sustainable profile
Jespers Torvekøkken will offer sustainable, organic and greener food experiences from the outlets on campus in Odense.
Jespers Torvekøkken became B Corp certified in 2023. B Corp is a global non-profit movement working towards a sustainable environment and a responsible working environment. This means that the company fulfils high standards in employment conditions, environmental impact and community involvement.
‘These are factors that we have also emphasised in our decision to choose Jespers Torvekøkken as a supplier for our canteens and café, and we look forward to experiencing this in practice on campus,’ says Henrik Mørkenborg Ravn, Head of Technical Services. He continues:
‘During the tender process, Jespers Torvekøkken has been responsive to our requirements and wishes. This applies to green transition, organic food and sustainability. They have presented exciting new café, bakery and dining concepts, and we look forward to seeing the reactions from SDU’s students, staff and guests. But first, we will now enter a collaboration phase leading up to 1 January, and we look forward to announcing the specific initiatives.
The food outlets at SDU in Odense, which Jespers Torvekøkken will operate going forward, include:
Food Hall (canteen 4), Food Hack (canteen 2), Hav A Java, Café Elements and the canteens at TEK and New HEALTH.
