Summer opening hours in the Central Administration

The summer holiday period brings changed opening hours and reduced staffing levels across several units in the Central Administration. Here you will find a comprehensive overview of this summer’s opening hours and closure periods.

SDU Analytics

No new enquiries will be handled during weeks 27–31 (July).

Enquiries sent to sduanalytics@sdu.dk and dataadgang@sdu.dk will be handled from August 1 onwards.

In case of urgent matters during weeks 27–31, Head of Analytics Jacob Jensen can be contacted by SMS at +45 93507069.

SDU Communication

Graphic Centre
The print shop is closed during weeks 28-30.

The graphic designers will be unavailable in week 30 and will operate with reduced staffing during weeks 28–31.

Brand & Marketing
Reduced staffing during weeks 28-31

Press
Language Services is closed during weeks 30-31 and will operate with reduced staffing during weeks 29 and 32.

The press phone will be available for urgent matters but otherwise closed during weeks 29–31.

Web
The central administration's web centre will operate with limited staffing during weeks 28-31. Longer response times can therefore be expected. 

The same applies to SDU's web centre during weeks 29-31.

Secretariat
Closed during weeks 30-31.

SDU Education

The opening hours of faculty and administrative units receiving inquiries from applicants or students may differ from the regular opening hours during the summer period.

Financial Services

Budget will not be closed during the summer holiday period but will operate with significantly reduced staffing during weeks 28–30.
Controller is closed during weeks 29 and 30.
Shared Administrative Services and Climate will be closed for the summer holidays during weeks 29 and 30, limited staffing in week 31.
Research Support- Finance will not be closed during the summer holidays but there will be greatly reduced staffing in weeks 28-30.
Procurement and Tendering will not be closed but will operate with reduced staffing throughout the summer holidays and significantly reduced staffing during weeks 29 and 30.
Accounting:

  • The Travel Office is closed for the summer holidays during weeks 30 and 31. 
  • Accounts Payable is closed for the summer holidays during weeks 29 and 30.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Payments via SDU's online banking system will be suspended from Friday, 10 July to Sunday, 26 July 2026 (both days inclusive).
    • Approval of sales invoices will be suspended from Friday, 10 July to Sunday, 26 July 2026 (both days inclusive).
    • New customer accounts cannot be created from Friday, 10 July to Sunday, 26 July 2026 (both days inclusive).
    • Enquiries regarding SDU customers and accounts receivable will not be handled from Friday, 10 July to Sunday, 26 July 2026 (both days inclusive).
    • Enquiries regarding transactions in SDU's online banking system will not be handled during weeks 31 and 32 (25 July–9 August 2026). 

SDU HR

SDU HR will remain open throughout the summer but will operate with significantly reduced staffing during weeks 28-30.

SDU IT

Summer opening hours for the SDU IT Service Desk
Due to the summer holidays, SDU IT Service Desk will have reduced staffing during weeks 27–32. During this period, several service desks will be completely closed during selected weeks, and longer response times should generally be expected.

Closed weeks for service desks
Based on the vacation schedule, the following service desks will be closed during these periods:

  • Esbjerg: Closed during weeks 28–30
  • Kolding: Closed during weeks 29–31
  • Copenhagen: Closed during weeks 29–31
  • Slagelse: Closed during week 31 and again in week 33
  • SD ØST (Odense, TEK): Closed during weeks 29–30
  • Sønderborg: Will remain open, but with limited staffing during weeks 30–31
  • Odense (SD Nord): Open throughout the period but with low staffing – especially during weeks 29–31

What does this mean for you?

  • All locations will operate with reduced staffing levels.
  • Longer response times than usual can be expected
  • In-person support will not be available at locations during their closure periods.

The Library

All campus libraries are accessible 24/7 throughout the summer for staff (and students).
Service hours are as follows:

  • Odense in weeks 27-35: Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., but 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in weeks 29 and 30
  • Esbjerg, Kolding, and Sønderborg in weeks 28-32: Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Slagelse: Monday-Thursday: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., but no service in week 30.

SDU RIO

SDU RIO will remain open throughout the summer holiday period.

Technical Services

Technical Services would like to inform staff that operational arrangements at Campus Odense will be adjusted during the summer period.

From 6 July to 31 July (inclusive), the main entrances will be open on weekdays from 08:00 to 16:00. The department doors on Campusvej in Odense will be closed 24 hours a day during this period.

Access outside opening hours is still possible with a valid ID card and code. Please do not allow entry to anyone who does not have  a valid ID card.

From 1 July to 31 July (inclusive), postal services will operate on a summer schedule.

The following applies on Campusvej:
  • Letters must be collected from the post office
  • Parcels will be delivered on an ad hoc basis – daily delivery cannot be expected.

When sending mail and parcels:

  • Submission must be made by 1.00 pm at the latest 
  • Courier and transport consignments:
    • Must be in the post office by 10:00 AM, or
    • Handed in at the post office by 12.00 PM (noon) at the latest.

  • Post is collected and delivered from 10:00 AM onwards

From 10 July to 24 July (inclusive), it will only be possible to book rooms via TimeEdit.

From July 6 to July 24 (inclusive), there will be reduced cleaning service at Campus Odense.

This means:

  • Longer response times for additional tasks (both cleaning and waste collection)
  • Some toilets, including those in the basement, will be temporarily locked

Cleaning frequency during this period:

  • Laboratories in use: daily tidying
  • Toilets and kitchens: daily cleaning
  • Offices in use: cleaning approximately once a week
