The University Library of Southern Denmark (SDUB) conducts originality check of PhD theses on behalf of the graduate schools at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities. We delete received emails with personal data within 30 days.
Which data do we collect, and what do we use them for?
Name: We need to know this to identify you. We use it if we need to answer questions about the originality report generated in iThenticate. Your name is stored in iThenticate.
The PhD thesis: We need your PhD thesis to conduct the originality check. All the PhD theses are submitted to iThenticate for originality check. iThenticate generates an originality report which they store.
Our Software
iThenticate (i.e. Turnitin) stores personal data in the EU or USA. The data is stored safe and secure using SSL encryption, redundant servers and data centers, and sophisticated perimeter security. SDU has approved iThenticate policies on how they handle data. iThenticate stores data (i.e. first name, surname and the content of the PhD theses) from the submissions for as long as our account is active. We can delete data that we have uploaded in iThenticate.
