You can save a lot of time using a reference management tool. Once you have some references in your reference library, they're easily placed in articles or power points, and the list of references will generate automatically. References can be downloaded from research article - or bibliographic databases, or manually created by the user.

There are other reference management tools, e.g. Zotero og Mendeley, whose basic versions you can download for free from the Internet. The University Library only offer general support for these tools.
When writing academia, one have to live up to certain demands about citing and refering to the sources correctly. There are many standards to choose from: Vancouver, APA, MLA are just a few. Every field of study has it's preferences - and there is often an organisation behind the specific style. If you need help for a specific style, you can find many guides and tutorials online, but it is always adviceable to go to the official source.
