At SDU, there is no systematic notification across the building stock. It is therefore important that everyone is aware of which type of alert is available in the area they are in. Currently, there are three types of alerts: Speech, tone or alert when calling.
Information about the type of alert is provided in the safety information in classrooms and meeting rooms, as well as in the building plans enclosed in the units’ local emergency procedure plans.
In places where break glass alarms are installed, these are also labelled with information about whether the alarm is an internal alarm or an external alarm. In the latter case, activation of the break glass alarm also alerts the fire brigade.
Therefore, always familiarise yourself with the type of warning in the area you are in and follow the instructions given by others in an evacuation situation.
