According to the maternity agreement you are entitled to bereavement leave with unemployment benefits for up to 26 weeks if you as a mother, father or adopter lose your child from the 22nd week of pregnancy until the child reaches the age of 18. During bereavement leave, you are entitled to full pay.
It is a prerequisite for the right to full pay during bereavement leave that the employer can receive unemployment benefits reimbursement.
You have a duty to notify leave to the employer as soon as possible.
The scheme is administered by Udbetaling Danmark (Public Benefits Administration) and you can find more information and receive guidance about bereavement leave on their website (Borger.dk).
