Delegation of hiring authority

The authority to hire DVIP and DTAP staff (both permanent and temporary) is, as a general rule, delegated to the Head of Institute, Area Manager, and Faculty Secretariat Manager (management level 2, cf. section 2.2 in SDU's accounting instructions).

Managers at level 2 are permitted to further delegate this authority to management levels 3 or 4 within their respective budget areas.

If a Secretariat Manager, Head of Institute, or Area Manager wishes to delegate hiring authority to a manager at level 3 or 4 within their budget area, the Hourly Wage Team in Payroll must be notified so that SDU can document that a hiring manager at level 3 or 4 has been authorized.

SDU HR Payroll will follow up on authorizations once a year (in May) to ensure that delegated managers continue to hold hiring authority.
