SDU has adopted an overall AI policy

The Information Security and Data Protection Committee (UID) has adopted an overall AI Policy that sets the direction for the university's use of artificial intelligence. The policy applies to all employees and sets out the overall principles for the responsible use of AI.

What does this mean for you as an employee?

The AI policy does not change the fact that you as an employee can use AI tools in your work, but it clarifies the framework for how this should be done.

As an employee at SDU, this means that you:

  • are welcome to use AI as support in your work tasks.
  • must pay attention to data security, confidentiality, and professional correctness.
  • continue to have full responsibility for the work you deliver – even when AI is used.

The AI Policy stipulates that faculties and central administration areas can make local guidelines for the use of AI. Local guidelines must not conflict with the AI Policy or guidelines established by a main process owner or a system owner. For example, SDU IT can establish more detailed rules for the use of Microsoft Copilot.

Read the AI policy and be aware that in the future, additional guidelines for specific main processes and systems will be introduced.
