Design and layout

The Graphic Centre helps you with professional design when your materials require the skills of a graphic designer. Here, you can get advice, layout and graphic design that follow SDU's visual identity.

Use existing design templates

Feel free to use SDU's PowerPoint and Word templates when you don't need custom design.

If the templates are not sufficient, you can get help with:

• Layout for posters, leaflets, reports etc.
• Illustrations and visual elements.
• Promotional material for e.g. Open Days.
• Design of beach flags. The Graphic Centre does not produce beach flags, but can help with the layout and design of the flag, which you order from an external supplier, for example from skiltex.dk. Here you can download a template (with dimensions and format), which you should attach when ordering graphic help.
• Video, e.g. screen recordings, infographic and explainer videos. Use 'The Cube' for camera-based productions.

• Graphic design for merchandise, such as t-shirts, hoodies and other merchandise according to SDU's visual identity. We only deliver the print file - not the production.

Graphic help from SDU's graphic designers is primarily a service for the university's units and employees, but in special cases, external partners can get help - for a fee and according to specific guidelines. Below you can read more about who can get help - and on what terms.

In order for us to deliver the material on time, it is important that you order well in advance.

As a starting point, the following minimum deadlines apply:

• Smaller jobs, e.g. posters, flyers, roll-ups or postcards: at least 5 working days.
• Larger tasks, e.g. reports, magazines, books or campaign material for Open Days: at least 6 weeks.

We always assess the time required based on the scope of the task and agree on a realistic deadline together. We also take into account any partial deliverables such as proofing rounds or approvals along the way to ensure that everything is delivered on time.

To ensure an efficient process and a good result, it's important that all materials have been proofread before we begin.

There is a maximum of three rounds of proofing per job, so make sure you send the final and approved material from the start. The text must be approved by all relevant stakeholders and content providers before you send it for set-up.

Images for printed materials should be delivered in high resolution to ensure a sharp and professional quality in the finished product. If the image resolution is too low it will affect the result negatively.

When text and images are in place from the start, we can stay on schedule and deliver the material on time.
