In common areas, waste can be sorted into five categories:
- Residual waste
- Bio-waste
- Paper and cardboard
- Glass and metal
- Plastics, food cartons and beverage cartons
‘Behind the scenes’, SDU handles a total of 30 fractions, of which 21 are recycled.

Can’t fit your waste in the waste station?
For large amounts of waste, please use the large container in the basement. The nearest container can be found via SDU Maps. Search for ‘Storskrald’ (bulky waste).
Does your unit or department want to sort waste into other fractions?
If your unit or department generates large quantities of a certain type of waste, please contact Technical Services at 8888@sdu.dk, who will assist you with the further handling of the waste.
