About Study Start

Welcome to our new international students

About admissions, study start and more

By SDU Education, , 9/18/2024

The start of term is in full swing, and as always, new students are flocking to SDU not only from all over Denmark, but from all over the world. We are welcoming more than 400 new exchange and guest students from more than 35 countries and more than 1000 full-degree students who will be studying in Esbjerg, Kolding, Odense and Sønderborg.

Orientation Days: Study start for international students

Every semester, the faculties and SDU Education host welcome events for all new international students.

At SDU Odense, Orientation Days for all new exchange students were held on the last two weekdays before the start of the semester. The Orientation Days include a general welcome as well as a specific welcome at each of the faculties. The international study start for full-degree students was organised and held by the faculties and individual programmes.

At MySDU (opens in a new tab), you can read more about Orientation Days on SDU’s campuses.

At each campus, international students are taken care of to ensure they get off to a good start, both in Denmark and at SDU.

In Odense, students are invited into Microsoft Teams groups where they can find answers to many of the practical things that await them: registration in Denmark, obtaining their student ID card delivery, and much more. International full-degree students will find additional content on ‘how to start your career in Denmark’.

Did you know that...?

As we welcome our new international students, around 400 SDU students go on exchange stays at our partner universities around the world.
