Preparation and Culture: What We Can Learn from the Baltics (and the Nordic Region)

Kristian Handberg, Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Copenhagen
Based on his upcoming book on cultural preparedness, which Kristian Handberg is writing together with Malene Breunig, he looks at the special relationship between Denmark and the Baltic countries in the dramatic period around 1991 and draws a line up to today's discussion of culture and preparedness.

Based on two new books, Billedtræthed/Image Fatigue and Førkrigstid/Pre-war, the researchers discuss how war has come to permeate society; what it means to be flooded with images of war; and how we live with war as a constant threat.
