Working from home in the Science Faculty Administration

You may agree ad hoc remote working (”working from home”) with your team leader for up to two days in any given week, provided your duties allow for it.

If you wish to have regular, recurring remote working – for example one or two days per week, or the first working day of each month – you must enter into an individual written agreement with your line manager.

When working remotely, you must mark this in your Outlook calendar as ”Working elsewhere”.

As a general rule, you are expected to be physically present at SDU at least three days each week, unless you have agreed otherwise with your line manager.

Friday is mandatory attendance day, unless you:

  • are unwell.
  • are on annual leave.
  • are taking a flex day off.
  • or have a specific agreement with your line manager to work remotely on that particular Friday.

Your team leader may additionally require your attendance on further days when needed.

Working from home

Your and SDU's general duties also apply when you work remotely.

The employer (SDU) must ensure - and you must contribute to - that the working conditions at home are fully safe and healthy, as health and safety legislation applies regardless of the workplace.

Read about SDU as a flexible workplace.

IT equipment for working from home

Working from home requires reliable and appropriate IT equipment. SDU IT has defined what is considered suitable IT equipment for this purpose.

These guidelines apply to the Central Administration and serve as recommendations for the faculties.
