Tips for Mediasdu.dk – SDU MediaSpace
MediaSpace is SDU’s own media platform, which can be used as an alternative to commercial media platforms such as YouTube.
Using this solution allows you to create a link that you can share with external users or embed on, for example, SDU’s website.
This means that videos can be shared without viewers having to log in, which can be useful, for example, for teaching across universities or at conferences. You are responsible for complying with copyright and GDPR rules.
Using MediaSpace is recommended over other media platforms, such as YouTube, which collects personal data about viewers.
Kaltura – as a learning and teaching tool
Kaltura is a media platform that can be used as a teaching and learning tool via your access to MediaSpace and via your access to MyMedia through itslearning.
The platform includes an editing tool that, for example, makes it possible to add interactive elements to videos. These may include reflection questions or MCQ questions that help make course materials more interactive.

Update your outdated tests before they disappear (itslearning)
The original test tool in itslearning (version 2.0) will be deleted from itslearning in summer 2026. Tests created with the old test tool will therefore disappear. Make sure to update your tests to version 3.0 before it is too late.
Tests created with version 2.0 can be identified by the grey logo. Tests created using version 3.0 have an orange logo.
Updating tests
Open your test and select Update test. This will create a new copy of the test in the new format. Then compare the updated version of the test with the old version, as some elements may not be copied across. Only then should you delete the outdated test.
Guidance and support
You may wish to follow EdHub’s guide on how to update your tests. You can find the guide here.
For further support, see itslearning’s support page. For further help, you are also welcome to contact EdHub via their contact form.
