INSPIRE
A European research project building a center of excellence for inclusive gender equality. SDU is work package leader and research hub co-leader on sustaining long-term change.
SDU aims to be a diverse and inclusive workplace and educational institution, where all employees and students have equal opportunities and rights. Therefore, SDU has a strategic focus on diversity, equality, and inclusion.
SDU’s Gender & Equality Team (GET) supports the university’s work on diversity, equality, and inclusion through strategic advisory support, analysis, and the development of organisational practices. We work with leaders, staff, students, and research environments to translate ambitions into concrete initiatives in everyday practice.
Our work is grounded in an inclusive and intersectional approach. This means that we focus on developing organisational processes and practices that support participation, access to information, and opportunities for influence across the organisation.
We also focus on how different forms of inequality and bias – for example related to gender, ethnicity, age, disability, and social background - can affect opportunities and conditions within the organisation, including how these intersect and are reflected in specific structures and practices.
These initiatives contribute to strengthening the quality of research, education, and the working environment, as well as the university’s ability to attract, develop, and retain talent.
SDU's Gender Equality Plan (GEP) is a quality assurance model for SDU's gender equality efforts. SDU's GEP organizes and monitors gender equality initiatives across the entire organization.
SDU's visionary stance on equality underpins the university's commitment to an informed, continuous, deliberate, and ambitious effort towards gender equality.
