Prevention and management of offensive behaviour

Read about what you can do yourself and where you can get help to prevent and deal with offensive behaviour.

Managers are responsible for communicating that offensive behaviour is unacceptable, promoting a frank dialogue and taking action if offensive behaviour does occur.

Management, employees, students, the health and safety organisation and the liaison organisation together have the task of creating and maintaining a work and study environment that supports mental health.

There are a number of opportunities to focus on dialogue and prevention in relation to mental health in the work and study environments:

  • The annual health and safety discussion in the health and safety organisation.
  • Discussions in the liaison committees about matters relating to employee satisfaction, well-being and the psychological working environment, including offensive behaviour.
  • Workplace assessment (APV) and follow-up action plans.
  • Teaching environment assessment (UMV), study environment survey and follow-up action plans.

In addition, it may also be relevant to address the topic in GRUS, LUS and MUS reviews, at staff meetings and during study start or in dialogue forums, etc. between management and students.
