Employment of clinical associate professors

Rules about work permits for clinical associate professors from non-EU/EEA countries

A researcher or other employee with a work and residence permit under the researcher scheme or the Pay Limit Scheme for main employment elsewhere must apply for a work permit for secondary employment in order to work at SDU as a clinical associate professor.

The clinical associate professor is asked to contact the ISO to begin the application process and permission must be granted before work can begin. There is currently a processing time of 30 days for this type of application.

Internationals who work illegally in Denmark risk deportation, and both the international employee and the employer (in this case SDU) in Denmark can be fined or imprisoned.

It is therefore necessary that the department complies with the above rules before employing the clinical associate professor.

Any questions can be directed to the International Staff Office: iso@sdu.dk
