Principles for dealing with offensive behaviour

It is difficult to establish a standard for what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. What is considered acceptable collegial or managerial behaviour for one person may be perceived as offensive by another, and it may also depend on the situation. Therefore, it is important to take as the starting point the person’s perception of the behaviour to which they are subjected. Always take it seriously if a person feels violated and chooses to make this known. This also applies to witnesses and persons who feel that they have been wrongfully accused of offensive behaviour.
