Dear new employee,
Starting a job in a new place with many new colleagues and brand new surroundings is exciting, and you will naturally have a long list of practical questions that come to mind. On this page you will find some of the practical information and administrative matters that will be helpful for you to know about for your day-to-day work at SDU. Hopefully this will help you get off to a great start at your new work place.
At SDU, we aim to create value for, and together with, society. This entails delivering research results and educating people for the job market with a constant view to the society we are expected and keen to influence. The answer to societal challenges is often found in the interplay between highly specialised professional environments. Together, they enable perspectives to broaden and new insights to occur. Therefore, SDU continuously works towards establishing cross-disciplinary environments which can break boundaries and shape the future.
We also need to stay adaptable and ensure that we can change when necessary, prioritising research funds and controlling our operation in interaction with a globalised world which is rapidly and continuously changing.
Further, we need sustainable development!
It is our ambition at SDU to offer our staff attractive working conditions. We prioritise good relationships with collaboration partners in Denmark and abroad, and it is important for us that working at SDU feels meaningful.
I would like to welcome you to this position and hope that you enjoy it here.
Sincerely,
Jens Ringsmose
Rector
