Management and strategy

USE PERFORMANCE AND DEVELOPMENT REVIEWS FOR STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE UNIT – See SDU’s annual wheel for performance and development reviews and find inspiration and tools for a strategic management discussion about the focus of this year’s performance and development reviews

The annual wheel is the overall framework for performance and development reviews at SDU and can be adapted to local conditions

  • Heads of department/heads of faculty secretariat/heads of division are responsible for organising the performance and development reviews in their own units, including preparing and conducting the performance and development reviews and following up on skill plans.

  • Performance and development reviews should be conducted by managers with personnel responsibilities. The head of department/head of faculty administration/head of division is responsible for ensuring that managers conducting performance and development reviews have the necessary skills.
  • Employees and managers in public workplaces are required to hold performance and development reviews once a year. This is agreed between the parties of the collective agreement. Performance and development reviews are designed to support the ongoing day-to-day discussions about staff development. Note that GRUS is an option and not a requirement as with MUS and LUS.

  • The Dean/University Director is responsible for initiating the annual performance and development review process.
