The digital competence wheel
Inspiration on how to work with digital competences in workshops and meetings
The competence wheel is a concrete tool for reflection and assessment of digital competences for both employees and managers.
The digital competence wheel focuses on practical and applicable digital competences.
It serves as a tool to start dialogue and to assess the team's digital skills. The aim is not for all employees or managers to master all areas of the wheel, but to create a common understanding of what digital competences also entail, beyond just being able to use technology.
The competence wheel has four dimensions, each covering three sub-areas. It is designed as a generic tool that can embrace digital competences across all employee groups. This means that some parts will be particularly relevant for certain roles, while others only need to be able to apply them at a more basic level.

The Danish Association of Local Authorities originally developed the competence wheel and it has now been adapted for use at SDU.
