Stationing abroad

We recommend that you contact the Danish Tax Agency to get an assessment of your tax liability, while  you are abroad. Du kan both contact the Danish Tax Agency through by logging into www.skat.dk with your MitID, or you can request a binding ruling from the Danish Tax Agency regarding, where you are going to be tax liable during your stationing abroad. A binding ruling costs 400 DKK, and you can request this through skat.dk.

We recommend that you contact Udbetaling Danmark to get a clarification about your social security. Social security is health insurance, health benefit, maternity allowance, family allowance etc.

You can contact Udbetaling Danmark at: +45 70128051 or by mail: isos@atp.dk.

During your stationing from SDU you will be covered in accordance with the Danish State’s self-insurance agreement, which means that SDU carries the financial risk in cases of injury/damage, and therefore does not pay any premium. Europæiske Rejseforsikring A/S administers the scheme on behalf of the Danish State. Please note that you are not allowed to take out any additional or alternative insurances.

Please note that there might be special rules, which apply for you depending on the length and destination of your stationing abroad. You can find more information about what you need to be aware of regarding insurance in the checklist, which you can find a link to on this page under the next topic.

Please note that you need to pay for a private travel health insurance, if you are travelling on a private trip/holiday during the period of your stationing abroad. You are welcome to contact the rejser@sdu.dk at SDU for information about getting a private travel health insurance through SDU with a discount.

You can read more about the rules regarding work-related travel and how to obtain an insurance card at sdunet.dk and in the University of Southern Denmark’s internal circular on work-related travel.

If you are going abroad SDU recommends that you make an agreement before going  abroad to make sure that you have clarified the terms of your employment etc.
