NAFF - Network for Employees with Physical Disabilities

We create a safe and inclusive forum for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and exchanging experiences among employees with various physical disabilities. The network aims to strengthen community, well-being, and mutual support among employees with physical disabilities.

Purpose

The network for employees with physical disabilities at SDU

  • creates a safe and inclusive forum for dialogue, exchange of experience and knowledge between employees with different physical disabilities and aims to strengthen community, wellbeing and mutual support among employees who have a physical disability
  • functions as a framework for discussions and idea development that can contribute to a more inclusive and accessible working environment at SDU
  • can provide valuable input to the rest of the organisation on which initiatives promote inclusion, accessibility and equal opportunities in daily working life.

Target group

The network is open to all employees at SDU who have a physical disability.

This may include, for example,

  • mobility difficulties
  • visual impairment
  • hearing impairment or deafness
  • chronic pain or illness
  • neurological conditions with physical effects

The list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether the network is relevant to you, you are very welcome to contact us. There is no obligation, and you are also welcome to attend a meeting to get a sense of whether the community is right for you.

You do not need to have a current need for support yourself in order to participate – colleagues' experiences and perspectives can be an important resource for the community.

Format and organisation

The network is based on the participants' own needs and wishes. Content and focus are developed collaboratively, so the group becomes a forum that makes sense for those taking part.

The intention is for the network to meet 2–3 times per semester, with meetings lasting around 1½ hours.

The network is run by a steering group made up of 2–3 participants from the network. The steering group, in dialogue with network participants, decides on the topics and format for each meeting.

If you would like to be part of the network, are curious whether it might be for you, or simply want to hear more, please feel free to contact a member of the steering group:

Hanne Frederiksen (HUM)
Maria Bee Christensen-Strynø (HUM)
Zora Rubahn (TEK)
