Freedom of choice in your pension
For selected employee groups with a pension rate above 15%, you have the option to choose what happens to the part of the pension contribution rate that exceeds 15%. The amount can be paid out as salary, paid into a savings scheme - or split between the two options.
If you do not make a choice, the contribution will continue as before to your regular pension scheme. You can change your choice once a year in March - and the change takes effect on 1 April.
The change is permanent until you make a new re-election yourself.
