Christmas 2026
New shared concept for Christmas gifts for employees at the Faculty of Health Sciences
The Faculty of Health Sciences will in future prioritise shared Christmas activities over individual Christmas gifts. The aim is to create greater equity across the faculty, strengthen the sense of community among staff, and promote sustainability.
At a recent meeting of heads of department, the practice for Christmas gifts for staff at the Faculty of Health Sciences has been discussed with a view to creating a more consistent approach across the faculty.
Until now, there have been differences in how Christmas gifts have been handled locally - both in form and scope. To ensure greater equity and at the same time support collegial community, the heads of department have agreed to adjust the practice going forward.
- We want to create a more consistent practice across the Faculty of Health Sciences. The group of heads of department has therefore decided that everyone will receive the same Christmas gifts in future, says Merete Munk, Head of Education and Secretariat at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
- In the management team, we have agreed to support activities that build community rather than some people receiving a physical Christmas gift. And it probably also promotes sustainability if people do not end up receiving a Christmas gift that there is no real need for, adds Merete Munk.
From Christmas 2026, all employees will therefore find that their Christmas gift takes the form of a contribution to Christmas lunches or other social events in connection with Christmas.
The individual units will still decide for themselves how the funds are to be used in practice. This means that activities can be adapted to local needs and traditions.
