Supervision

The management group encourages supervisors at FKF to involve a co-supervisor on all projects!

Purpose of co-supervision at FKF

As an important part of the overall work to create the best possible well-being and working environment for PhD students during their employment and stay, the management group, including the Head of Department and the FKF PhD Study Committee, encourages supervisors at FKF to involve a co-supervisor on all projects.

The supervisor and co-supervisor should agree on precise guidelines for who is responsible for what during the project and in relation to supervision of the PhD student(s). It should also be agreed in advance to what extent the co-supervisor will be involved in the project and the co-supervisor's competences in the research area and thus scientific contribution to the PhD project.

The NAT PhD committee has decided that a co-supervisor must hold at least the position of assistant professor to ensure sufficient academic sparring and continuity for the PhD student. Co-supervisors in the assistant professor category also gain experience in supervising at the PhD level through collaboration with the main supervisor.
