News from HR: Register your special holiday days now

Your special holiday days accrued in 2025 have now been released, and you therefore need to decide when you would like to take them. The days must be used no later than 30 April 2027 – otherwise they will expire.

What do you need to do now?

You must register your special holiday days in HCM no later than June 1st 2026 at www.hcm.sdu.dk
Register via “Tid og fravær” and ”Tilføj fravær”. Choose type: ”Særlige feriedage”.

If you do not yet know when you wish to take the days:

Please temporarily register them between Christmas and New Year 2026 and the three working days leading up to Easter 2027. This is only a technical placement – the days can always be moved later once you have finalized your plans.

Important to know

Employees hired in 2026 will not have their special holiday days released until May 1st, 2027, and are therefore not covered by this planning.

What are special holiday days?

You accrue 0.42 special holiday day per month of employment in a calendar year.
The special holiday days may be taken from May 1st of the following year, i.e., from May 1st, 2026, for days accrued in 2025.
For example, if you were employed throughout all of 2025, you will have 5 special holiday days. If, on the other hand, you were employed as of April 1st ,2025, you will have accrued 3.78 days (0.42 × 9 months).
