Status of the restructuring, continuous updates
Important milestone in the transition
The distribution of employees is now in place and preparations are intensifying.
Last week, the steering committee approved the list of employees moving from the faculties to SDU Education. This involves around 70 employees from faculties and departments. In addition, SDU Centre for Teaching and Learning and The Accommodation Office will also move to SDU Education.
Organisational, system and physical relocation
With the approval, we can now carry out the central preparations until the turn of the year, when the organisational move will take place. As employees move to new workplaces and become part of new teams, the formal framework for their employment will change. Therefore, HR is now preparing new employment contracts for employees. It is important to emphasise that there are no changes to the employees' terms of employment.
The organisational relocation means that employees will have a new manager and a new place of employment from the start of the year. The systemic relocation means that the organisational relocation results in a change in the cost centre. This affects rights and access to systems. Ensuring that employees continue to have access to the systems they need is a project within the project that I wrote about last week.
The complexity means that we will probably have to separate the organisational move, and the system move.
Finally, there is the physical relocation of the employees' office spaces to SDU Education. The move will be carried out in phases starting in the second quarter of 2026. Depending on the tasks, some employees will continue to work in departments and faculties for a longer period before they too are moved. Technical Services is now preparing room overviews, but we cannot yet say when there will be a final clarification of the physical framework.
We are working hard to finalise an implementation plan that brings all the tracks together. Once the plan is finalised, we will get back to you with more concrete and detailed information about the next steps.
Workshops for team leaders in Planning
Before Christmas, we will organise workshops for the team leaders of the faculty-specific teams in Planning. Each team will have its own workshop where we go through the tasks that are moving to Planning. We work faculty-by-faculty because each faculty has specific conditions that need to be taken into account.
These workshops will describe the new collaboration structures and interfaces. The work will culminate in specific collaboration agreements in December, which will draw a clear picture of both the tasks and the framework for collaboration with the academic environments.
The process will be organised so that both team leaders and relevant relocated employees can contribute their knowledge as experts. For the EVU team, a separate process will be carried out after the New Year.
The coming months will be characterised by both planning and close dialogue across the organisation, and we will do our best to create as much clarity and predictability as possible along the way. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments. Several of you have already done so. It enriches the process and leads to important clarifications.
