Climate ambassador
Become a climate ambassador at SDU
– and put the climate on the agenda where you work.
Would you like to help promote the green transition at SDU? As a climate ambassador, you’ll be a local driving force for green behaviour in your department – with support from both colleagues and SDU’s climate initiative.
What does a climate ambassador do?
The climate ambassadors at SDU play a key role in implementing SDU’s climate plan and its ambition to become a low-emission university by 2030.
As a climate ambassador, you are the one who puts sustainability on the agenda in your department. This might involve organising a green meeting, improving waste sorting, reducing energy consumption or engaging colleagues in a climate campaign. You’ll also take part in implementing joint initiatives across SDU.
You’ll inspire colleagues to adopt climate-friendly behaviour at work and develop new initiatives to complement the efforts set out in SDU’s climate plan.
You don’t need to be a climate expert – the most important thing is a desire to contribute to the green transition.
What’s in it for you?
As well as contributing to the green transition at SDU, you’ll gain knowledge and practical tools that you can also use in other work-related – and personal – contexts. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills in behavioural change and communication, and you’ll become part of a committed network of colleagues across SDU.
You’ll also have the chance to take part in the Odense Climate Partnership’s climate ambassador network several times a year. The Odense Climate Partnership is a collaboration between Odense Municipality and several companies and organisations, including SDU, which is a founding member.
Climate Ambassador Training Programme
If you apply and are selected, you will need to complete the climate ambassador training programme run by the Odense Climate Partnership. The programme takes place over two days. Here, you will learn how to work with green behaviour and change in practice.
On 28–29 October, we will be training the 10th cohort of climate ambassadors at the Odense Climate Partnership.
This time, we will be placing particular emphasis on the circular economy – and how we can use resources for longer, more intelligently and more efficiently.
After completing the training, you will join the climate ambassador network at SDU and be invited approximately every six weeks to networking meetings with fellow climate ambassadors across the organisation. The meetings are held either in person in Odense or online.
