Apply for IDEA funding

IDEA funding can be applied for to realize ideas and projects in the development stages from maturing relevant knowledge, identifying needs and solutions, to early concept development.

IDEA also supports the development of new prototypes, concepts, or pilot projects as stepping stones toward larger external grant applications and business collaborations.

Up to DKK 150,000 can be applied for per project.

It is not expected that the funding from MedTech Odense can or should finance the entire project, but rather that it should be used for a specific deliverable that can move the project one step forward.

Funding can be used for, for example:

  • idea development around medtech solutions in knowledge forums
  • dialogue/interviews with relevant stakeholders and potential partners
  • travel for idea exchange with international knowledge centers
  • mapping of clinical needs at hospitals
  • interviews and data collection
  • interdisciplinary matchmaking and networking events between researchers, developers, and clinicians
  • development of early prototypes and planning and execution of small pilot projects
  • early exploration of relevant commercialization opportunities, regulations, and implementation, or clarification of how these can be incorporated into a project.
