Tips for researchers - June 2025

See the many research support services the library offers, including your very own contact librarian.

Contact librarians

All students and staff are of course always welcome to contact the library at the desk during our opening hours as well as via email and phone. We also have a number of contact librarians with special responsibility for communicating relevant information between the library and the department/(enkelte undtagelser: institute).

"The needs of the many different academic environments at SDU can vary greatly in terms of what the library can help with. In our experience, we can often help with more than many people realise. Our contact librarians are trained in many subject areas, and they also have a lot of specialised library knowledge," says Jens Dam, Head of Education at the library.

This specialisation means that the individual contact librarian can't help with everything. But they can always help point you in the direction of relevant colleagues for your specific enquiry, so don't hesitate to ask.

Research support

The library helps with counselling/guidance/instructions/supervision/career guidance in several areas of research: literature searches, reviews and reference management, of course, but also responsible conduct of research, open science and data management, research analyses, etc. We also have several special offers and services for PhD students.

The library's research support will visit SDU's campuses in Jutland in the autumn, where on-site consultations are available. The exact dates and locations will be announced in the individual campuses as the date of the visit approaches. The date for the visit in Kolding is set; it will be on 11 September at 10-14.
