Pre-award
Before you apply
When applying for funding, there are several aspects to consider.
Reach out for help from Research Support in advance
Do you need guidance on funding opportunities and application writing ? SDU's research support units at the faculties and in RIO are committed to assisting you throughout your academic journey.
We recommend you to reach out for help as early as possible so we can provide the right resources to enhance your chances of success.
Do you process personal data?
You must consider whether or not you process personal data in your research project. If you handle personal data, you are expected to follow the rules on the processing of such data.
If you process personal data in your research project, the project must be registered to Legal Services in SDU RIO.
You should expect approximately one week for case processing from the time you register the project until Legal Services contacts you.
Prepare a data management plan
SDU’s Open Science Policy requires that the project’s handling of the collected or created research data must be planned.
The form and scope of the planning vary between different research areas, and the specific requirements for the planning are determined in the individual department’s Open Science policies.
In many cases, it would be a good idea or a requirement to make a formal Data Management Plan. Your department may be working with a specific template, and otherwise you can find inspiration at DMP online.
Gender equality plans at SDU
SDU’s Gender Equality Plan (GEP) is a quality assurance model for SDU's equality initiatives.
With the GEP, equality efforts are firmly anchored across departmental and faculty levels, with a continued focus on local efforts, cross-cutting collaboration and dialogue and collective, annual reporting.
